The Objectives of the Organization

The Organization of Arab Architects was founded in 1994 and emanates from the Federation of Arab Engineers, it includes 13 Arab Engineering Organizations, in accordance with Article 3 of the Statute: Objectives and Means.

A- The Objectives of the Organization:

– Organizing the architectural work so as to ensure the provision of the most appropriate services to the projects of the Arab world.

-Encouraging the establishment of local organizations in the regions where such organizations do not exist.

– Encouraging the exchange of expertise, and provide cooperation opportunities between the Arab Architects and the Organization from one side and its foreign counterparts from the other side.

-Representing Arab Architects in the Architecture Federations on an international level, and providing the necessary contact with similar Federations in foreign countries in line with the Federation’s Statute and Internal Regulations.

-Submitting recommendations to the Federation of Arab Engineers regarding the modification of Legislation and Regulations in the Arab countries with the aim of giving more freedom to the Architectural Work in the Arab regions.

– Raising the status of Architecture and guaranteeing its continuous development in a way that enables Arab Architects to fulfill their role in the development of Arab Architecture and serving the Arab society.

-Setting a regulation for the practice of Architecture as a profession stipulating the code of ethics of the profession and its governing laws within the main domains of architecture (planning, design, studies, and supervision of the implementation).

-Gathering the capabilities of the Arab Architects in order to achieve a distinct Arabic architecture in harmony with the Arabic environment, stemming from the Arabic heritage, and based on the latest scientific, artistic and technical developments, in addition to improving the profession’s educational standards.

-Preserving the Arab Architectural Heritage, and highlighting its impact on the evolvement of the civilization, as well as introducing it to the world.

-Deploying efforts to reach the Arab Architectural Integration and its distinctiveness on the international level.

-Seeking to unify in the Arab Region, the Engineering and Architectural Terminology as well as the standards qualifications and regulations related to the profession.

-Defending the interests of the profession and the Architects cultural and literary copyrights.

-Strengthening the connection and enhancing the interpersonal and professional relationships among Arab Architects.

-Organizing the process of information and studies exchange among Architects.

B – Means to achieve these Objectives:

The Organization thrives to accomplish its objectives through the following means:

-Holding conferences and seminars on architecture.

-Issuing bulletins and magazines on architects and architecture matters.

-Supporting the Architectural National Organizations Members at the Organization and promoting cooperation among them.
